  JWs - What Proves That They're a Cult

  i think one major point that proves that the jw's are a cult is that you can't leave without being stigmatized.

  all you have to do for other religions is take your name of the membership log or just resign.

  for jw's you can't leave unless you're df'd or da'd.

  The Idiocy of the Universal Sovreignty Issue

  does anyone else have trouble processing the logic behind the wts issue of universal sovreignty?

  why empower satan to make claims and give him the time and circumstances to prove his claims?

  why have a bet between 2 people decide the fate of the universe?

  I think one MAJOR point that proves that the JW's are a cult is that YOU CAN'T LEAVE WITHOUT BEING STIGMATIZED. All you have to do for other religions is take your name of the membership log or just resign. For JW's you can't leave unless you're DF'd or DA'd. You can't just go in one day and request to be taking off the membership log and expect to move on quietly and peacefully. They must stigmatize you.........Anybody feel what I'm saying?

  it is interesting to think that at one time the wt viewed itself merely as students of the word sharing and printing thier understanding or interpetation or their take on a biblical point and as a result they felt that if they printed something that someone didn;t agree with well all is well, we just got a different personal view on a matter.

  Once again JT, excellent thread...............

  This is at the core of what's wrong with the WTS. When they were just "bible students" their motives were a lot more purer. The environment wasn't quite as ripe for spiritual politics and bureacracy to take over. This was when they really seemed to respect personal conscience and free will. The minute they instituted the faithful-and-discreet-slave dogma was the beginning of the end and the point where they went from being a group of bible students to a cult.

  ok........has anybody been hearing rumors about new light on the faithful and discreet slave teaching?

  i recently talked to one of my ex-bethel buddies and he said that an adjustment has been in the works for awhile now and that the new light for the fds will be that they will receive their appointment before the great tribulation and that they didn't receive it at 1918-19 as previously taught.

  their works (global preaching work, worldwide growth, etc) up until the point of the great tribulation will show that they have been faithful and discreet in caring for the lord's interests and worthy of "official" appointment before the end comes.
